I put up my middle finger at him.
After Belovedest and I got our Home Depot errand finished, we went out to the car.
Belovedest: 6'4", white, short clipped brown hair, receding hairline, white Honeywell dome type N-95 mask, white T-shirt reading" Classically Trained" with a bunch of old-school video game controllers (but not any as old as the ones they started with), khaki colored cargo shorts, dark plastic slide type sandals.
Me: 5'6.5", white, shoulder length dark brown and variously blue fine 2c wavy hair held back with a grey rhinestone headband, violet eyeshadow with black liner behind blue frame rectangular glasses, black Breath of the Nature KF-94 mask, black chain necklace with spikes, silver star necklace, dark blue velour cardigan over a full length flowing embroidered black Holy Clothing dress, smartwatch with rainbow band, several medical bracelets and a medical necklace, some silver bangles with black, violet, and labradorite semiprecious gems, toeless black compression stockings, and a charcoal and violet pair of serious business support hiking sandals, just done driving a motorized grocery cart.
Him: sitting in his candy-colored Tesla, medium colored hair, with a full mountain man beard.
"You fuckin' weirdos," he muttered, deliberately loud enough to be heard inside the open windows of Belovedest's Toaster.
"Same to you, buddy!" I called as he started to pull out, waving my hand out the window.

Большому покрывалу исполнилось 97 рядов, пошел 98.
До первой примерки (на 100 рядах) - 3 ряда, а всего покрывалу надо в длину (если считать, что в ширину оно 100 шестиугольничков) 123 (если исходить из пропорций пододеяльника), 139 (если верить пропорциям одной простыни), 150 (если верить пропорциям другой простыни) или 160 (если брать за основу пропорции собственно дивана) рядов (если я правильно считаю и шестиугольничку в ширину соответствует ряд в длину, а если нет и соответствует только полряда - то вдвое больше; но я надеюсь, что считаю все-таки правильно. Ну и еще кайма.
Соответственно, вторая и последующие примерки будут на этих рядах, но до этого надо еще дожить...
До первой примерки (на 100 рядах) - 3 ряда, а всего покрывалу надо в длину (если считать, что в ширину оно 100 шестиугольничков) 123 (если исходить из пропорций пододеяльника), 139 (если верить пропорциям одной простыни), 150 (если верить пропорциям другой простыни) или 160 (если брать за основу пропорции собственно дивана) рядов (если я правильно считаю и шестиугольничку в ширину соответствует ряд в длину, а если нет и соответствует только полряда - то вдвое больше; но я надеюсь, что считаю все-таки правильно. Ну и еще кайма.
Соответственно, вторая и последующие примерки будут на этих рядах, но до этого надо еще дожить...

Familect phrases
I love hearing about the phrases people have incorporated into their family dialect (familect) that require explanation.
Here are some examples from around my house:
A "fuzzy" is a polar fleece jacket. (source: unknown)
Cat food comes in two varieties: gooshy (wet) and crunchy (dry). (source: Two Lumps webcomic)
"Bloop bloop?" means "Would you care to engage in sexual intercourse with me?" (source: a Tumblr post from someone who heard elk mating calls, parsed them as 'bloop bloop,' and started using the noise with their partner for the purpose, which cracked us up)
"One day... when you least expect it..." means, "I am contemplating taking you to bed." We almost never say the "I WILL HAVE SEX WITH YOU!" bit. (source: the second linked George Takei PSA)

Отчет
Как ни удивительно, снова наступила пятница. И снова безмерно благодарная вам за помощь и поддержку жаба пишет отчет.
С событиями у нас не очень богато.
По медицинской части - ничего нового (если не считать того, что к нам заглянул какой-то вирус. Мелкий, мы надеемся. Пчих.). Кстати, спасибо, напомнили...
По бытовой - я не в Кирове. Пора бы уже и привыкнуть, но пока не получилось. Испытываем замену лифта. Правда, есть второй, межэтажный, который заменили первым. Очень инклюзивный, все свои действия громко озвучивает (пока едет - звучит, наверное, чтобы едущие не думали, а не стоит ли он на месте), кнопки крупные, кнопки вызова "на этажах" ниже, чем были, и все такое прочее. Так что все не очень печально. Достаю мастеров вопросами о персонаже (надо бы перестать). Озадачена написанием текста (уже на совершенно другую тему) - надо, а лень. Ходили смотреть на розы и пальмы напротив Исторического музея. Теперь у нас есть фото банана на фоне кремлевской башни - вы все еще сомневаетесь в глобальном потеплении?.. А я посидела под смоковницей. Ждем приема заявок на Зиланткон. По идее, может, даже и скоро...
По финансовой части - без изменений. На карточке 18.000, долг - 56.000, до пенсии недели 2-3...
Еще раз спасибо вам всем! Где бы и как бы мы были без вашей поддержки...

Dept. of No, I'm Not Dead
Where's My Name Tag?
I feel as if I should have one of those "My Name Is" stick-on tags, I've been around here so rarely. Blame the fact that I'm hanging around in my KPop-related Discord community, but I don't ever want to abandon this community.
What can I tell you about the last couple of weeks? A back spasm episode that seems to have finally settled, a lot of time spent in the kitchen, baking and cooking; my stress relievers of choice.
I've been working on the continuation of my most recent fic, because it will. not. leave. me. alone. I've also started adding chapters of my completed NaNo novel over at![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
originalkaffy_r , which I hope will kick my original writing back into gear.
Tomorrow I take my friend RS to Skokie Courthouse, where she has to appear on her own (only for one appointment; hereafter, I gather her attorney will be on hand) with regard to a fight with her condo association. Her attorney clocked the association's attorney as being from a firm that specializes in bullying people involved this type of fight. It's possible that if she gets on her hind legs, legally speaking, the association and their attorney will back off.
I agreed to take her because a) it's possible to get there by public trans, but it's a pain and b) I can tell she's unnerved by the whole thing. I'm not looking forward to it myself. It's been six or seven years since I last had to cover any court case up there, and it certainly isn't the zoo at 26th and Cal, but even a nice suburban branch of Cook County Circuit Court has the feeling of depression, worry, and despair that just soak into you. So many people caught in the pipeline to jail and then prison ... and even the civil cases have an air of tragedy ....
But I can choose not to think about that, and instead focus on giving her as much support as I can.
As for the move? I don't know. I'm sinking into a bit of despair for a couple of reasons. Further, deponent saith naught, at least for now.
Oh, and we're getting to watch fireflies out our courtyard window, which is a wonderful thing to end on.

Itch.io Is Having Its Strikethrough Moment
Last night, bluesky exploded with the discovery that itch.io has delisted/shadowbanned pretty much all its "adult" games - they don't show up in a search anymore, even if you have the 'show me adult content' turned on, even if you are the game's creator.
They are still listed on the creator's pages; they are still in the bundles they've been in, and the "search title/author/tag" on the bundle pages still works.
Some games have been removed entirely - with a claim that they violate the TOS and therefore the creators can't receive payment, so itch will be just keeping their money thankyouverymuch.
After a mad scramble to figure out "what's going on and why," Itch mentioned payment processor issues on its Discord (which is going wild with drama; it does NOT have enough moderators for this), and eventually released a statement:
