Is the "how much for just the planet" a John M. Ford reference?

GAAAAH now I will have to read the Honorverse. (I read the Vorkosiverse because [livejournal.com profile] firefly124 wrote fic I was interested in but didn't know the canon.) I've been avoiding, the Honorverse 'cos, umm, like I need more canon to follow.

Oh well. At least the first few hits are free.

They've been recommended to me by other people, and one of my co-workers offered to give me his copy of OBS. (I don't read paper novels anymore, or I'd've taken it.)

"Quietly rooting for villains" is fine by me. And a large collection of canon books would be nice; it'd keep me from having to think too hard about "what shall I read next?" Besides, right now I'm reading the Mills & Boon freebies (10 free romance novels), and, umm, could use something that's a bit less like brainmush.

I'd love to learn a canon that can connect with the Vorkosiverse; Dr. Who doesn't count, and Firefly's more than a bit of a stretch. Dune is right out. (Quick, someone needs to write Miles/Paul fic.) There aren't many other humans-only space-based series.
