We had two fics come in early this week, one of which I have yet to translate. The Russian fandom has a number more that have been posted for their ficathon, including one I wrote. I am not neglecting you people and have a few fics in the works for this list as well :)
I've also created an AO3 collection people can add their fic to as they're posted.
And here's our prompts list again, with a new prompt by hedda62. You can post fics based on these prompts until Jan 31. As soon as you post a fic, you can add a new prompt to the list and maybe inspire someone else... anyway, keep an eye on the prompts, that's half the fun. I'll be reposting the list every week or so.
rogerstening: Mark, trying to figure out the best Winterfair gift for Kareen, and eventually looking for advice - from everyone except Kareen's mother, who for some reason terrifies him! (Comedy/Romance)
philomytha: Miles, Ivan, Elena and Gregor having adventures as children, giving their parents and guardians grey hairs.
hedda62:
1) The story of an obsessed collector (m or f) worthy of Princess-and-Countess Olivia's saddle.
2) Simon meets someone else who has survived having an eidetic memory chip.
gwynnep: Gregor and Laisa, their first fight.
zortified: Ivan has found someone he wants to marry -- only it's another man. (Can be OC or Byerly or... anyone, really.)
sylvia_rachel: Someone tries to bribe Pym to reveal Miles's secrets.
beccastareyes: Post-Cryoburn fic in which the Council of Counts realizes that Cordelia's now Vicereine of Sergyar, or alternately Cordelia's own reflections on the matter.
trobadora: Galeni making the decision to go back to the Academy or dealing with the immediate consequences of having done so.
betony11: Someone writes a poem or a song containing these three lines "Since that long ago day/Mother, Father, I'd like you to meet/She's getting away!"
lannamichaels: Padma fic in an AU where Padma was adopted by Piotr.
minutia_r: Lotus Durona Bharaputra--what was growing up a Durona like for her, what led to her decision to leave?
randomstasis: At some point, it dawns on Ekaterin that her romance and marriage into the Vorkosigan clan has unexpectedly horrifying consequence; she must divine the correct answer to the soul-shriveling question: What does one give this assortment of giants and legends for Winterfair? And how do you wrap it?
beatrice_otter: AU where Dr. Duv Galeni stayed a doctor of History instead of an ImpSec officer.
teldreaming: One of Duv's kids forces him to choose between Barrayar and his family.
Jes13: Miles and the smart bomb (and how it came to be safely lobotomized)
zahri_melitor: Mark, Kareen and MVK Enterprises, particularly Businesswoman Kareen and Mark's war against Jackson's Whole
janne_d: Something from Nikki's POV either on Miles or the rest of his Vorkosigan stepfamily - maybe his realisation that these are the people in his history books.
laleia: Miles as a father, reflecting on fatherhood or trying to control his hyperactive children. Isn't there some sort of saying that we get the children we deserve based off of what we put our parents through? What kind of children must Miles have, then?
mmegaera: Miles getting over his grief after Cryoburn.
naomichana: Ekaterin redesigning Ezar's gardens: a process fraught with sociological, political, familial, and of course horticultural complications.
anon1: The first time Duv meets Cordelia and understands what Miles said about her in "Brothers in Arms"
atheilen: Anything about Cordelia and Mark, particularly Cordelia's thoughts when she finds out Mark exists.
anon2: Ivan genderbender. Ivan for some reason has a Betan sex reassignment under duress, but finds he much prefers being a woman, I would also like to see a bit of revenge on By and Lord Dono, for the prank they played on Ivan.
selene_314: There are a lot of imposing figures in and around the Vorkosigan family. I'd like to see one of them early on, starting to grow into his (or her) power.
elvaron: Conversations in the green room - Ezar discusses future plans for the Imperium
penwiper26: I've always wanted to see the first private conversation between Aral and Ekaterin.
codenamecarrot: Elli Quinn and another canon character visit Athos. Chaos ensues.
ljgeoff: Something about the genetic sample that the haut took from Miles at the end of Diplomatic Immunity. Could some ba come looking for, well, if not asylum, then maybe a handy hideout? And use its, hrm, connections, as a playing card?
salable_mystic: Something about the Armsmens' wives and mothers - do they all meet up regularly, at events? Have the equivalent of a stitch-n-bitch? How do they interact with the members of the families their sons and husbands are sworn to?
gumbie_cat: I'd love a story set during the time Gregor was on the Ariel in The Vor Game. Gregor/Bel would be lovely!
ana_a_ana: An entire graduation class from the Academy get posted to Sergyar. The ship doesn't make it.
mistralfancy: Aral reflecting on the differences between the son he'd envisioned and the one he has.
lignota: Count Piotr tells Miles about trying to kill him as an infant.
crookedfeet: Miles asking Gregor to talk to Nikki about his father during ACC
alessandriana: Ivan being (reluctantly) competent-- whether because he's been dragged into yet another of Miles' adventures, or just solving problems in the course of his day-to-day job. (Would love it if Gregor got involved!)
joyeuce01: Laisa adjusting to her new role and stretching her power (with Gregor's complete and romantic backing)
elf: A women's rights movement gets started (or gains visibility) soon after Gregor's wedding.
queenbookwench: Kareen and Mark's Betan year: cross-cultural adventures, getting to know the relatives, and the slow move into a long-term relationship.
trope: Bel Thorne, post-Mirror Dance
box_blue: Something about Prince Xav's mother, Dorca's second wife. I always have been intrigued: Xav was a bastard legitimized by the marriage of his mother so who was she? A Vor? A prole? How big was the scandal? How did Pierre Le Sanguinaire react?
Phyll Griffiths: Some scenes where Laisa tells her parents about her new romance and then the proposal and acceptance.
Tom Vinson: One or more of the Greekie soldiers Miles joined on Kyril Island runs across some new reference to Miles Vorkosigan and has some thoughts....
